Nokia is riding on the social networking wave as it teams up AT&T in releasing the new mobile phone called Nokia Surge. Nokia Surge is a 3G-capable mobile device which heavily supports IM, text or email, MMS, video sharing and of course social networking. Debuting on July 19, the Nokia Surge will be available for $79USD and will also come with full HTML browser with Flash support. With Flash support enabled, you can use the Nokia Surge for viewing YouTube videos. A Juicaster application is also pre-installed to fulfill various social networking tasks such as posting messages, images, videos, and comments to Facebook and other social networking sites even while you are on the move.
The Nokia Surge also feature a full slide-out QWERTY keyboard in its slim, and stylish form factor. The mobile phone runs Symbian S60 OS which gives you access to various Symbian applications.
Other and entertainment features of the Nokia Surge include - a 2.0 megapixel camera, AT&T Navigator support for bringing turn-by-turn directions and traffic monitoring and alerts, AT&T Mobile Music, and AT&T Video Share.
Other features include music player and FM radio, personalize shortcuts, themes, ringtones, and wallpapers, Nokia PC Internet access, various games, Mail for Exchange 2.9 support, quickoffice document viewer and PDF reader. It also boasts of a 2.4-inch QVGA LCD, 128MB Internal Memory, MicroSD support and Bluetooth connectivity.
The Nokia Surge is a WCDMA/HSDPA 850/1900 GSM 850/900/1800/1900 phone. It provides up to 400 hours of standby time and 4.7 hours of talk time.
The Nokia Surge will be available from AT&T starting at $79.99 plus a two-year service agreement.
